Quilts for Oklahoma

First I prayed, my second impulse was to send quilts to the devastated in Oklahoma.  How would I do that?  Where would I send them?  Thankfully the quilting community has answered some of those questions.  I’m passing it along from Bonnie Hunter’s blog through stitchinggrandma to my readers and followers who are asking the same questions. I personally called Ellen to verify some of the information and there is a possibility of more logistical information to be released tomorrow, stay tuned.  Thanks be to God for the ability to give our love and concern to others through our creative impulse.  God’s strength and love be with those affected by the recent events.

Quilts for Oklahoma!

Dear Quilt Friends:

I have been contacted and asked to spread this info to you. It’s important to get the word out to all the quilters you are in contact with, so could you please share this blog post with your email lists,  message boards, flickr groups, twitter, wherever quilters gather to help get the word out?

This is from Ellen Medlock of the Ellen Medlock Studio Store in Tulsa, OK.

“I am honored to start a QUILT DRIVE for OKLAHOMA Tornado Families. If you wish to donate a quilt, please send to our shop and we will make sure it is placed in the right hands!

Ship to:

OK Quilt Drive,
 c/o Ellen Medlock Studio Store,
10032 S. Sheridan Rd, Suite H-1,
Tulsa, OK 74133.

(We will be happy to place any kind of blanket, for that matter!)”
Thank you for all you can do to help those who have been so devastated in the tornadoes that have recently swept through Oklahoma. QUILT ON!

Isaiah 61:4

They shall build up the ancient ruins, they shall raise up the former devastations; they shall repair the ruined cities, the devastations of many generations.
