A week or so before Christmas, Facebook threw a page I might like on my news feed. It was a quilting page, over five thousand members. Silly me, I liked the page and now see great quilt projects a dozen times daily. There are some beautiful quilt pictures posted that really get the creative juices flowing. Boxing Day a member posted the first step of a Mystery Quilt. I wasn’t really interested until people started posting pictures of their fabric selections, finished blocks and I went snooping around the quilt stash at the church. A confluence of temptations. Needless to say, I have completed the first step and cut the pieces for the second. And, wouldn’t you know it, my sewing machine decided it needs maintenance. Which sucks because the closest technician is an hour away. I just might have to take a road trip tomorrow.
The floral fabric is older. There were two 36″ bolts of it in the church stash. I have no other clues as to its age. The blue batik was something I had bought thinking it would work with another project I had already purchased fabric for. It didn’t. The white is a bit stark, a pale orange or pastle pink probably would have worked better for the light background, but both those colours are not prominent in my stash, I care for neither.
I think I presently have well over a dozen projects at various stages of production. Another one won’t make any difference!
Daniel 2:19 Then the mystery was revealed to Daniel in a vision of the night, and Daniel blessed the God of heaven.
The blue is just right. It pulls the blue from the floral! I am happy to see you have been inspired! When you are finished, share the pattern source please!
Thanks, I think the blue worked too. The pattern called for the print to be where the blue is and the blue to be the accent colour. I thought it would be a nice combination this way, pools of waters and flowers.
The pattern is found on the face book page – Just Us Quilters under the files tab.
The floral fabric is fabulous and I think it’s going to all come together beautifully – I love white in a quilt and that blue is fabulous!
Sometimes I think having many projects on which to work is a good thing as there is always something to work on – one need never get bored! That’s my excuse and I’m sticking to it. LOL
The perfect excuse. I find that too, no boredom when you have a choice in what to work on and not an obligation.
Are there any links to the original quilt/pattern? She who feels a little tempted!!
LOL. Only a little? I can’t figure out how to link it in comments, you can find it here

It is on the Just Us Quilters page under the files tab.
I joined a few facebook quilt groups too. It’s awful for my productivity. I have a thousand things I want to try now.
I know! There are so many talented and creative people out there. So much fabric, so little time.
